"1600 - Falconry reaches its highest level in England and is governed by strict rules– a king could fly a gyrfalcon; an earl would fly a peregrine; a yeoman could have a goshawk; the sparrowhawk was reserved for priests; and servants would have a kestrel. Poet and playwright William Shakespeare, 1564-1616, was an avid falconer."

Anonymous asked: have any pictures from burning man?

Lots of them. I just need to work my way through them… soon.

Poetry by Stacey and Google

When we were in Burning Man a month ago we camped next to a bunch of 70’s California hippies. They are now well into their 50’s and 60’s but they are definitely as rebellious as they were and also hmmm… as horny :)

Through the week we got pretty close and we are still writing each other here and there.

Today, Stacey, wrote a comment on something I posted on Facebook. She used Google Translate (I think) to turn it from English to Hebrew.

At first the result just sounds weird and funny, but after the 3rd or 4th time I read it I understood - this was pure modern poetry - and probably one of the best I read lately.

I will try to re-translate it into English for our none Hebrew readers.

I love how I can translate Hebrew to English…

The funny thing is I have no clue, no clue, what you are talking about.

Love, your friend is the burner of the blond.

How does you leg feel?

TT and Samuel (named after Samuel Colt and his quote “God made man, but Samuel Colt made them equal”)

"This is not about the founder of Facebook. For me, it’s about academics and what’s happening in the schools. We’ve been throwing money at the problem for a long time. I can applaud what [Zuckerberg] did, but I’m not going to break my arm patting him on the back. In terms of performance, in terms of creating a better academic experience, if money were the issue, then prisons would be the most effective place to send children because that’s where we spend the most amount of money. This is not about the money, it’s about transforming the way in which we operate public education."

— Steve Perry, CNN Education Commentator, regarding Mark Zuckerberg’s $100 million gift to Newark schools, destroying Facebook fanboy David Kirkpatrick’s praise for the gesture. (via gbattle)
